Armax : The Journal Of Contemporary Arms

One of my personal motto’s is “Always reading, always learning.” The basis for the saying comes from my belief that if you are continuously reading, you are continuously learning. This is especially important when you work in a technical field.

In the spirit of my motto, I recently discovered “Armax, The Journal Of Contemporary Arms.” and subscribed to it. What attracted me to Armax was its scholarly approach to firearms. Most firearms publications these days are nothing more than paid advertising pieces with little objectivity.

I was also interested in Armax due to my interest in doing some firearms writing myself. This publication will give me the opportunity to see the work, and learn from the work, of many notable people in the firearms community.

I recently received my first edition of Armax. The size format of the publication is 6-inches wide by 9-inches tall. This issue has 105 pages text, color photos, technical line drawings, etc. The page material is a heavy paper that borderlines on light cardstock type material. The great thing about the page material is that it will make the publication durable to constant page flipping and reference use.

One article of significant interest to me in this issue begins on page 21 and is titled “Kiwi Steel: Modern Rifles of the New Zealand Defense Force”

If you have an interest in reading quality, historical firearm history and technical information, I highly recommend considering purchasing Armax.
