The Colt SP901/LE901 first appeared in a Colt catalog in 2011. This prototype upper receiver is either the one shown in the catalog photo below or one similar to it. I have never seen a factory rifle available with this upper receiver before. I purchased this example from a former Colt employee a few years ago.
