Received in the mail today….1981 advertisement for the Laser Products Corporation LPC Model 16 Military Laser Sight for the Colt M16A1 rifle.
The LGS I work at has one of these Laser Products Corporation LPC Model 16 Military Laser Sight for the Colt M16A1 rifle in our shop.
It was acquired last year in an estate purchase. It is in remarkable condition, however no battery came with it.
It is my understanding these were made at the request of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for the 1984 Olympics in L.A.

Very interesting information. Thanks for sharing it.
Is your shop selling it?
Thanks.

Yes, it is certainly for sale. Determining a price for it has been fruitless as so few of these models were manufactured, but my shop’s owner is definitely of the mind to sell it.
You can contact me at andy@themiamiarmory.com if you are interested in possibly acquiring it.

I should mention too that the actually produced units are not exactly how they appear in your posted advertisement. There is a large rectangular battery box located below the rifle’s carry handle, but above the chamber area of the upper receiver.
The one in the advertisement photo must have been a prototype mock-up.
